The Android Build Is Out

AI Journal Pro is on Google Play. No invite, no closed test, no waitlist: search for it, install it, start writing. It is a full production release, available in 177 countries, for Android 7.0 and up.

The iOS version has been on the App Store since August. The Android build spent the weeks in between in closed testing, which is where the boring work happened: billing, the biometric gate, dictation on real hardware rather than an emulator. That work is done, so both platforms now ship the same app from the same codebase.

What You Get

The app is built around a single idea: five minutes of honest writing is worth more than an hour of a chatbot asking how that made you feel. The AI here is an analyst, not a conversation partner. It never writes an entry for you, never asks a follow-up question, and never starts a dialogue.

Speak instead of type. Two dictation modes: on-device speech-to-text, which is free and never leaves the phone, and audio-direct transcription through the AI when you want the cleaner transcript. Talk through a walk home and you have an entry.

Mood in one tap. Three levels, colour-coded in the calendar, with a seven-day trend chart computed locally.

Recaps that arrive on their own. A short weekly insight, a full monthly recap with statistics, themes and highlights, and a year in review.

Your storage, your choice. Local on the device by default, or your own Google Drive if you want it on more than one phone. AES-256 on every backend, local included. The key stays in your own account, not ours.

Everything leaves. Entries, moods, tags, metadata and photos export as Markdown and JSON in a ZIP, free, at any time. No lock-in.

What It Costs

Downloading it costs nothing, and the parts that make it a journal stay free forever: writing, the calendar, full-text search, photos, on-device dictation, the daily reminder, the biometric lock, and export.

The AI features work two ways. A subscription, where we host the models and you just write. Or bring your own key: drop in an OpenRouter API key once, pick your model, and pay your provider directly. Why Local-First Still Matters

A journal is the most sensitive text most people ever write. That shaped three decisions.

There is no social layer. No sharing, no feed, no other users, no ads. Entries are strictly private, and the app has nowhere to put them even if it wanted to.

Audio is processed for transcription and then dropped. It is never stored permanently, and we do not train on your text.

Deletion is real and in your hands: you can delete your account and every piece of data attached to it from inside the app, without emailing anyone.
