Delete Your Account & Data

AI Journal Pro lets you permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly in the app or by request.

Delete from within the app

  1. Open AI Journal Pro.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Open Data & Privacy.
  4. Tap "Delete Account".
  5. Confirm and re-authenticate.

Your account and data are deleted immediately.

What gets deleted

  • Your account (sign-in identity).
  • All journal entries (text, mood, tags, locations, image attachments).
  • AI-generated monthly recaps.
  • AI usage and cost records.
  • Your encryption key.
  • Subscription entitlement records.
  • Device trial records.
  • Any cloud backups in our AI Journal Cloud (Firestore).

Note: copies stored in your own Google Drive or Apple iCloud are removed by the app when you delete from within the app. If you have already uninstalled, see "Request deletion without the app" below.

Request deletion without the app

If you can no longer access the app, email privacy@aijournal.app from the email address associated with your account (or include the email you signed up with). State that you want your AI Journal Pro account and data deleted. We will verify ownership and delete your data within 30 days, and confirm by email.

Data retention after deletion

Account and journal data are deleted immediately on request. Backups and transient logs are purged within 30 days. Anonymized, non-identifying aggregate analytics may be retained. Records we must keep for legal or tax reasons (e.g. purchase receipts via the app store) are retained only as legally required.
